Every station connects over 4G/5G cellular and fails over to SpaceX Direct-to-Cell satellite automatically when the tower drops — a world first on the One NZ network. No dish, no extra kit. You can also choose cellular-only or satellite-only per site. More on connectivity →
OptiMet stations run off-grid on solar and battery, sized for years of unattended operation far from mains power. The hardware is rated to −50°C and built from 10-year UV/frost-resistant materials.
Wind, rainfall, temperature, humidity, pressure, solar, water level, road state, visibility and air quality — plus live camera imagery. Every sensor speaks Modbus, so a station is configured to the site. Use the sensor selector to find the right mix.
Yes. Take it through the open API straight into your GIS or control room, use our ready-made web front end, or watch the RMS dashboard. Or hand the whole thing to us as a fully managed service. See the platform →
You do. OptiMet delivers your site’s data to you — via the API, the dashboard or your own systems. We host and manage the platform; the readings are yours to use.
We do. Stations are backed by remote management and monitoring, plus on-site scheduled maintenance — sensor checks, calibration validation and camera/Modbus servicing. You can run the platform yourself or let us run it end to end.
If it speaks Modbus — water-level sensors, pump stations, flow meters, third-party instruments — the OptiGate controller can read it. Place a station anywhere and we get the data out. See the gateways →
An optional paid add-on that adds camera intelligence to your OptiMet page: it compares each new image with the last and tells you what changed, how serious it is, how certain it is and what to do next. Explore OptiAI Vision →
OptiMet is designed and supported in New Zealand by OptiTrac, with stations deployed across some of the country’s most remote and weather-exposed sites — but watch this space: we’re going global. If you’re outside New Zealand we can already connect your stations on global cellular/SIM connectivity today, and we’re working to bring SpaceX satellite failover to new markets. Wherever your site is, get in touch — we’d love to work with you. About us →
The moment a station is installed, the data is live — readings arrive in seconds to minutes, at whatever reporting interval you choose. The only constraint is on SpaceX satellite, where data is sent at intervals of 15 minutes or longer (not more frequently). The longer part of any project is usually agreeing the site and what to measure — never the data itself.
