OptiMet
About

We don’t sell boxes.
We build the whole solution.

OptiMet is the environmental-monitoring platform built by OptiTrac — a New Zealand IoT solutions company that owns the whole stack: the hardware, the firmware, the connectivity and the software. One team, one accountable solution, from the sensor in the field to the data on your screen.

Who we are

A New Zealand team, built for New Zealand conditions.

We’re a local team with deep experience across New Zealand’s most varied and demanding environments — from alpine summits to coastal infrastructure and remote highways. OptiMet stations run in some of the country’s most weather-exposed places, and we design, build and support them here.

The decision that defines us

We own the whole stack — so you have one team to trust.

Early on we made a deliberate choice: not to resell someone else’s hardware with a logo on it, but to build a complete solution — hardware, firmware, connectivity and software — and own every layer. It was the harder road, and it’s exactly why OptiMet holds up where others don’t.

When something matters in the field, there’s one team accountable for all of it — not a chain of vendors pointing at each other.

  • Hardware — the station, sensors & gateway
  • Firmware — edge intelligence on the station
  • Connectivity — cellular + SpaceX satellite failover
  • Software — API, front end & RMS dashboard
  • Service — hosting, monitoring & on-site maintenance

What we deliver

Complete environmental monitoring for demanding sites.

All-in-one stations

Wind, rain, water, road, air & imagery on one solar-powered pole.

Connectivity that doesn’t quit

SpaceX Direct-to-Cell on One NZ — a world first.

Your data, your way

API, front end, dashboard — or fully managed by us.

Supported for the long run

Scheduled on-site maintenance & remote management.

What we stand for

Reliability isn’t a feature — it’s the point.

The data gets through

Everything we build serves one goal: the reading arrives, even when conditions are at their worst.

Built to last outdoors

IP65, −50°C-rated, 10-year materials, no moving parts — engineered for years unattended.

Shaped to the problem

Every sensor runs Modbus, so a station is configured to the site — not forced to fit.

Here when it counts

A local team that answers “who fixes it when it fails?” with “we do.”

Let’s talk about your site.

From a single station to a national network — we’ll build it, run it, and keep the data coming.
